From 1980's to 2018

This kitchen is a perfect example of the quality of Glenwood cabinetry. This 'Before" kitchen was Glenwood cabinetry from the early 1980's. The cabinets were actually still in amazing shape, just looking very dated. The homeowners wanted a more open modern space.

Check out the before photos below:

Our designer Becky came up with a beautiful and functional new layout and design for this kitchen, featuring and island to replace the peninsula, lots of accessories, and beautiful granite countertops.

And the final result:

Before - rarely used powder room was removed to create space for a pantry wall.

This gorgeous transformation included removing a rarely used bathroom area to create a more open space and allowed room for a pantry wall to be installed. The laundry room just around the corner from this area also had a toilet and sink, so there was no need for this extra bathroom.

The focal point of this kitchen space is without a doubt the natural granite countertops. The colour is "Amelia Ridge" and features an eased edge.

The many hidden accessories in this kitchen help to make the best use of space inside of all the cabinets.

First up we have a kitchen aid (or any mixer) stand. The shelf lifts up with the help of pistons and locks in place so you can use your mixer without having to lift it in and out of a cabinet space, or keep it out on the countertop. The shelf then easily fits back in the cabinet with the mixer still in place!

Sometimes when designing the best layout in a kitchen you end up with a narrow cabinet that it can be hard to figure out what to do with. This is a perfect solution! This pull our towel rack allows dish cloths and towels to dry out of sight. There is plenty of room to still store smaller items below and a 1/2 shelf in the cabinet allows for even more use of the vertical space.

The homeowners chose a granite (colour - "Cinder") double bowl under-mount sink, partnered with a stainless steel Bristol "Genova" faucet.

Hers is another before and after looking towards the living room area. The homeowners also had the brick fireplace wall dry walled over and the whole space painted at the same time as the kitchen was being done.

We have to share one more gorgeous photo of the final result!
